Lush Christmas Event

Last week I had the pleasure of going to Lush Spa here in Liverpool to have a look at the Christmas goodies along with the current halloween collection. This is the third Lush event I've been to and as a regular customer of Lush, they are absolutely wonderful!

I got abit snap happy with my camera as per usual but the products are just soooo aesthetically pleasing, who can blame me? The bewitched bubble bar was my absolute favourite product from the halloween collection, as someone who loves cats and halloween for that fact it is right up my street.

Then we got a lovely tour of the spa which is heavenly. They also had a lovely selection of vegan food in the spa which was delicious (coming from a non-vegan). The highlight of my night was making my own bubble bar, we made the comforter bubble bar if you know of it, I sadly have no pictures of this as it was a pretty hands on job and I had to wear gloves.

After making my bubble bar and eating enough pretzels to feed a family, I continued to browse the christmas gifts and trying the free samples. I got a bunch of free samples of the face masks so I will have to give you all my verdict on them as I have only used one but I love it, I'm such a sucker for face masks. Of course we got a goodie bag before leaving....

In my goodie bag I got a 'Butterbear Wash Card' and a 'Naked Lip Scrub'. I also got a 'Naked Shower Gel' which you can see here on the website as I did used it before taking the pictures and now it is proven hard to get an image of. I really like the idea of Lush creating products like shower gel with no plastic packaging because it just proves how easy it is. I will be sure to write a follow up post on this to let you all know what I thought of the products. In the mean time, go and shop the wonderful range at your local Lush store and if you are from Liverpool, at the event I was informed our Lush store is moving to a bigger unit and is going to be one of the biggest going so thats pretty exciting.

Bourjois // Healthy Balance Compact Powder

Another beauty post for you all! My skin is probably the most annoying skin in the world, its dry then its oily then I'm breaking out I hate it. I find products that work for me then stick with them, I've used to same foundation for 18 months now but it works. Face powder is a one of my essentials because I can sometimes look too oily but because my skin is dry in parts it can dry me out so finding the right balance can be hard for me.

I've always been a lover of the Stay Matte Powder from Rimmel but as my skin seems to be getting dryer, this powder has really started to dry me out so I had to go looking for another powder and my skin really doesn't like change! I did abit of a research and there is far too many face powders out there for me to choose, however I have always been a fan of Bourjois. I've done a few posts on Bourjois products because they work so well for my skin, so I decided to go for the Bourjois Healthy Balance Compact Powder as I need a powder that is good for the skin and keeps you glowing as opposed to drying you out.

Safe to say I really love this powder and so does my skin. Its lightweight, it keeps my skin healthy and isn't breaking me out which is a win-win situation for me. At £8.99 a pop you can't complain, face powders seem to last a life time (unless you drop them and smash them which I have been known to do) so I would definitely recommend investing in this powder if you have combination skin. It really balances out the oils and keeps you looking healthy throughout the day. I wear it to work and after a 9 hour shift my skin is still looking as healthy as ever. Get down to Boots as all Bourjois products are 3 for 2 so go treat yourself!

Tony Moly // Sheet Masks

Hola! Its been a while again (I'm sorry again) but August seems to have completely pasted me by like did it even happen? Anyway, when I was in Barcelona I visited Sephora which was one of the most beautiful shops I have ever been to, seriously when is the UK getting one?! I purchased these sheet masks from Tony Moly which is a Korean skincare brand and I have a lot of love for Korean skincare as its normally really cute and benefits my skin so naturally I had to try these!

The main problems I've faced with my skin has been breakouts and redness, I sometimes find that facemasks can actually lead to breakouts on my skin rather than fix them but I have to say I've had a lot of success with these ones. The first one I picked up was the seaweed skin purifying mask. I love the seaweed face mask from The Body Shop and I find that seaweed skincare really loves my skin so this was a given. This made my skin feel very fresh and cleared up any blackheads that were lurking on my face.

Aloe is another ingredient that my skin loves, its so subtle and kind to the skin, This aloe moisturizing mask gave me the softest skin I've ever had. I know the main bonus of a facemask is the lovely soft, subtle feeling afterwards but imagine that times ten my skin was soft for days and I will be picking this up again!

Avocados just scream healthy to me, I never eat them but I know I should try because they truly are a wonder food but instead of eating them I've put them on my face. This avocado nutrition sheet mask is lovely, its very light on the skin and it gave me an overall glow while keeping my skin soft and moist. I would probably recommend this mask for any skin type as its not got a specific skin in mind and it made my skin look fresh for days.

So they were the ones I picked up, I definitely want to re-purchase them because my skin will miss them. Discover the whole range of Tony Moly at Cult Beauty here.

Holy Grail Moisturiser // Benefit Total Moisture

I'm excited this post has actually made it on the blog! I took pictures for this post back in March and I clearly procrastinated that much only now am I writing it. Anyway, how are you all? Once again I have been slow with blog posts but I want to share with you all the only moisturiser I have been using these past few months and that is the Benefit Total Moisture Facial Cream. I absolutely adore this moisturiser and as someone who suffers from dry/oily/sensitive skin this is a god sent (my skin is so temperamental and annoying).

I would have to say as always with Benefit products the down side is the price but it is worth it. This is a really light moistiriser but it will sort out them dry patches like theres no tomorrow, I honestly don't know how my skin would cope without this it fixes every little thing. Not to mention, again with all Benefit products, the packaging is super cute.

Have you guys ever used this moisturiser? What did you think?

Monthly Favourites // May

As if we are half way through 2016! The year is well and truly flying but I couldn't be enjoying it more. Now I want to apologise for not doing a monthly favourites since January which seems like ages ago, I just haven't been as on the ball with my blogging but for the next 6 months I'll be here each months filling you in on my faves.

This lipstick by Seventeen has been out for a while now but I recently picked up the Stay Pout Lipstick in 'Its a Kiss Off'. I love this shade its so subtle and the tones are so gentle, its such a staple colour for day and night which is why I've been using it like crazy this past month!

Body scrubs from The Body Shop are my absolute favourites, if I could I would buy every single one in the store but sadly my bank balance wouldn't let me also it would be just a tad weird. Anyway, this body scrub is from the British Rose Collection  and its such a gorgeous scent, I was going crazy in the store I ended up buying the body scrub and the body butter, not that I needed either but I couldn't say no.

This Boots Botanic Hydrating Day Cream is the only moisturiser I have used for about 3 months now (yes I know its day cream but I use it at night aswell, sue me). I think this cream truly is the definition of 'a little goes a long way' because the smallest amount covers so much and it lasts you forever. As someone who doesn't sleep that much this cream is such a life saver it brightens and softens the skin which is what I need out of a moisturiser.

Thats all for my favourites this month but I will posting alot for in the next coming months, hopefully more outfit posts as England has finally got some nice weather!

Monthly Favourites // January

So the first month of 2016 is over but it has been an amazing month and a brilliant start to the year, what a better way to celebrate than sharing my favourites with all your beauties! I haven't done a favourites post since last June, I don't know how that happened I really slacked on the blogging front last year but not to worry 2016 will be filled with lots of posts.

I have been all over fragrances this month, I received a fair few for Christmas but my favourite scent has to be Heat by Beyonce. I am a sucker for celebrity perfumes, I have owned pretty much every one under the sun and the Beyonce perfumes are to die for.

I haven't splurged much on beauty this month but I did pick up the Rimmel Wonder'full Mascara which I found to be the perfect mascara. Its very subtle and healthy for the lashes, I have always been a big Benefit mascara user but Rimmel mascaras never fail to impress me and the selection is endless!

January was pretty much a month of me loving Soap and Glory, I mean I love Soap and Glory at the best of times but because I got so much of it for Christmas and then proceeded to buy some of it in the sale my love is at an all time high. The Heel Genius by Soap and Glory has been a must use for me this month, as someone who gets dry heels this has been a saviour and I would never have thought about buying it myself it juts so happened to be in a gift set I received.

I think I may have mentioned this specific TV show here on Magazines and Dreams in the past but I have spent my whole Christmas holidays re-watching Gossip Girl because its just the best TV show going, it never fails to impress me I could watch it endlessly. Side note: UK Netflix is getting rid of it in February so watch as much of it as you can before it goes. *sobs*

If you want to listen to what music I have been listening to this month listen to my Spotify playlists here. That is it for this months favourites! Hope you all had a great start to this year and the rest of the year is bright for you.

Lots of love, Heather x

Jimmy Choo // Flash Perfume

I have been lusting after a Jimmy Choo perfume for a while now so when I received the Jimmy Choo Flash Perfume for christmas I was so happy! This perfume is gorgeous inside and out, its got quite a strong but not over powering scent so it lasts you all day.

I'm not going to lie I am useless at describing scents so I don't know why I chose to do a blogpost on a scent. It has quite a sweet scent to it and subtle undertones. I use it on a day to day basis as it doesn't really scream nightlife, I know that Jimmy Choo made a limited edition perfume a while back called 'London Club' which was more of a going out one so this one is a lot more subtle.

I also received the shower gel along side the perfume which make a lovely combination. I would recommend this perfume to anyone who likes a subtle day to day, quite girly fragrance because it really fits that. Click here for a full list of fragrances in it.

Soap and Glory // Skincare Picks

Hi dolls so I have always been a little obsessed with skincare and I like to try out many different products to see if they fit my skin and are actually worth the hype. I recently turned to Soap and Glory for skincare because I have only ever used their brand for shower products never the skincare or make-up but lets be honest, Soap and Glory has the cutest packaging so I couldn't resist.

I first picked up the Peaches and Cream 4-in-1 Deep Cleansing Milk. I just walked in to Boots on whim when I picked these up but I love cleansers like this that melt away all your make-up while cleansing your skin. Naturally with it having 'peaches and cream' in the title and being a Soap and Glory product it smells amazing, I have been using this every night to remove make-up and it does me wonders. Its very gentle on the skin and it doesn't break me out which is a win-win situation.

As Soap and Glory was buy one get one half price I proceeded to pick up another skincare product and this was the Face Soap and Clarity Vitamin C Facial Wash. I have been using this cleanser most mornings and I do like it, it has little exfoliation beads in it and it thoroughly cleanses your skin. I do find it to be very soapy (it is called face soap so I should have figured) which I don't like but if you only use a small amount it fills your whole face.

I would recommend these products, they are very kind on sensitive skin and they are super cute and affordable.

What do you think of Soap and Glory skincare?

The Body Shop // Facemasks

Hello hello, I have had this post sitting in my drafts for well over a month now and I'm finally writing it. So we all know that I love The Body Shop (who doesn't?) but over the past year I have used their facemasks religiously. I try and do one at least once a week sometimes twice and my go-to for them is of course The Body Shop, so which ones have I been using?

My first love from The Body Shop was the tea tree range because no one knows as well as me what a god sent tea tree is to acne ridden skin and the Tea Tree Face Mask is the best face mask I have ever used for breakouts. It obviously has a strong smell of tea tree so if you don't like that then I would stay clear straight away, its quite light so you can use it twice a week and its not hard to remove. It lasts for a while as well so you do get your money's worth.

The Seaweed Ionic Clay Mask  is one of the best I have come across! I only bought this last month when The Body Shop had a massive shopping event on with 40% off so it was an impulse buy but it really cleanses the skin, I mean it really cleanses it. Everytime I use it I feel like my skin has been refreshed, there's a reason this is a best seller.

If you are looking for a light face mask to use regularly then the Blue Corn 3-in-1 Deep Cleansing Mask is for you. I bought this as well on impulse (shocking) because at this point I had only used the tea tree face mask and I'd heard great things about The Body Shop's range of face masks. I was not disappointed by this, it is so gentle on the skin while getting rid of any excess oil.

These are the 3 facemasks I have used from The Body Shop, you can shop the whole range here.

Spotlight on: Victoria's Secret Body Lotions

Saying Victoria's Secret was a nice store would be an understatement because it is one of the most beautiful stores I have ever been in, we don't have one here in Liverpool so when I was shopping Manchester the other week I was beyond excited to go into an actual Victoria's Secret store. I was in love with everything, I didn't know where to start! I have seen various body products across Tumblr from Victoria's Secret and I have been lusting after them for as long as I can remember. Sure you can get them on Amazon but it actually works out cheaper to get them in store, they have 3 for £24 as an offer while normally they are £13 each so naturally I went for it and what did I love the most?

The body lotions! Shocking I know, Heather goes for the body lotions but seriously you guys these body lotions are heavenly. I opted for the Secret Charm Body Lotion and the Passion Struck Body Lotion and I also got a shower gel which will inevitably make its way on to my blog. The shipping is insane on the website so I would recommend getting down to your nearest store because the selection is incredible! I love the secret charm scent, it is honeysuckle and jasmine. This is quite a subtle scent and is very fun and flirty.

The passion struck is gorgeous but it isn't subtle at all, you can smell it a mile off. Naturally its very fruity, its key notes are fuji apple and vanilla orchid. Whilst I was shopping in Victoria's Secret the sales assistant came up to me and showed me all the different scents, while asking me what I preferred to match me to the perfect scent. Customer service goes along way and believe me it was hard to not buy the whole entire store!

Do you guys use any Victoria's Secret products?

Love,

Heather

My Little French Riviera Box by Sarah Lavoine

Hi guys so I received my monthly 'my little box' a little late this month as there was issues with the postage or something (they sent me a cute email apologising) so I was delighted to see it pop through my door the other morning, this months theme was 'French Riviera' and it was a collaboration with Sarah Lavoine; a French designer. As always the box was beautifully wrapped and the contents were gorgeous so lets get into it!

Poster & My Little World Magazine
Gorgeous, summer themed poster to add to my collection of posters from these boxes. I love them, they are so sweet and fits in with my room beautifully. The My Little World magazines is one of my favourite parts of the box because it adds a personal touch to it and the magazine is a such a good read in my opinion.

Sunglasses by Sarah Lavoine
In true summer theme, sunglasses made an appearance. I own 4 pairs of sunglasses which is abit too many in my opinion as I'm the only one wearing them but hey now I have 5 so there will be a certain amount of choices when it comes to summer outfits. These sunnies are by Sarah Lavoine and they are very chic, as the Parisians would say.

Des-Cache Pots
Like I may have mentioned, My Little Box comes with various gifts and doesn't just stick to beauty which is what I love about it so these little holders it came with are gorgeous. I recently re-organised my room (it was about time) so these were a great addition to my room as I'm trying to keep my room clean and tidy, I used one to put my make-up brushes in and the other one is around a vase of flowers that my mum gave me.

Kerastase Keratine Thermique
Not that first time that I have received Kerastase in one of these boxes, I love this brand and so does my hair so I was delighted to see this when I opened the box because it works to anti-frizz your hair which god knows I need and it smells lovely.

Loved by Sarah Lavoine Nail Polish
This product is from the loved by range which you can shop here. I love this shade, its absolutely gorgeous and you will see me wearing it throughout the summer. I received a loved by Lou Lesage lip balm a few months ago in a box which has been in my bag ever since so no doubt this will be any different!

My Little Beauty Gomme Marin
Another My Little Beauty product! I love this range (check out my post about them all here). This is a salt scrub which you use in the shower and its gorgeous, its a great exfoliator. I have used this a couple times and my only complaint is why isn't it bigger?!

So that wraps it up for my contents in this months my little box! What did you guys think?

love, Heather x

ASOS Wishlist: Fashion & Accesories

Hi loves, I haven't shared a wishlist in so long on Magazines and Dreams so today I am here with my ASOS wishlist! I love ASOS, its my go to website for anything and everything, enjoy reading through my wishes.

Whats on your current wishlist? Leave comments below! Love, Heather x

Spotlight on: My Little Beauty

Hello, hello so if you have been reading my blog these past few months you will know that I subscribe to My Little Box every month which is essentially a beauty box but it comes with lifestyle products/little treats for you (previous gifts have been phone cover, laptop case & t shirts). I prefer this over other beauty boxes because it feels very personal and it comes from Paris which I am in love with. Anyway, each month it comes with a product from the My Little Beauty range which is gorgeous brand they own and today is a collective post of all the products I own from them and my thoughts on them.

The first product I ever recieved from them was a highlighter pen that I seem to have lost so lets just skip over that. One of my favourites is the Masque Réparateur Pointes Séches which is a hair masque that benefits greatly if you have dry ends (which I do), there is not a specific scent to it but it smells quite refreshing and you get a lot in this which is good as you don't need alot anyway.

On to the make-up products! First is possibly my favourite cheek product: the Crayon Lips & Cheeks is a god sent for me because I am awful at applying blush, I tend to look like a clown (no lie) and I much prefer a crayon applicator like this and especially considering it is such a gorgeous colour. Its quite dry which is good for my skin but not for lips (you can't have everything, right?). I only recently got the Crayon Epatant which is stunning metallic brown eye shadow pencil, this is a must have colour for your eyes, I love it. I use it quite often to be honest and pencil eye shadows are much much easier to apply (seriously, guys).

Face products! As you know I could talk about face cream, face wash and foundations all day so I'm going to keep this short. The Brume énergisante Visage et Corps is a face mist which instantly refreshes you, technically speaking this is a face and body product but I keep it to my face. I got this a few months back and I was thinking it would be perfect for summer and it seriously is perfect for summer. Face mists have always been a favourite of mine anyway and this has a lovely zesty smell. Lastly is the Embellisseur Teint de Pêche which is a BB cream/CC cream. It hides all your imperfections and also moisturises and energises your skin which is obviously amazing but it doesn't have great coverage which was the downfall for me because I need to cover them red parts of my face and annoying little spots. Never the less if you are not leaving the house or just going the shops this is the perfect product as it makes you look like you actually had 10 hours sleep!

That is all for the products I own but you can browse the range here. At the moment they don't ship to the UK but the monthly box does so you can get some of these if you subscribe to the box and if you live in France then you can order what you want from the website and my Google analytics tell me I have a few Parisians reading (bonjour).

Are you going to be trying this range?

Love,

Heather xx

Bourjois // Haul

Long time, no haul here on Magazines and Dreams, don't know why because I certainly haven't stopped shopping! I have been loving Bourjois lately, its always been one of my favourite make-up brands but for the past few months its all I've been using so what have I bought?

The foundations! These are honestly the best foundations I own and have ever owned. I started off by getting the Healthy Mix Foundation a few months ago and fell in love so naturally I wanted to repurchase it. When I went to buy it, Boots were offering 2 for £14 on Bourjois products which is an absolute bargain considering these are £10 each so I decided to repurchase the healthy mix and try out the 123 Perfect Foundation. Both of them make me look 10x better but my favourite has to be the 123 perfect one because it covers up redness/blemishes better.

So I admit once again I was sucked in by an offer. I was online shopping the other day and I saw Boots had 3 for 2 on Bourjois products so I may have accidently bought a few more items. The first thing I got, which I was actually looking for was the 1 Seconde Mascara because I've lost my roller lash mascara (don't ask me how I'm devastated) and I'd heard good things about this mascara. I am planning on doing a full post on it but long story short, this mascara is wonderful and the packaging is cute.

Naturally I couldn't say no to a 3 for 2 offer on one of my favourite brands so I got the Healthy Mix Concealer and the Shine Edition Lipstick in shade 'Rouge'. I've only used the colour boost lip pencil from Bourjois when it comes to lip products but I do love this lipstick, its not matte so my lips can cope with it and it gives a lovely shine. The concealer is good, I hate putting concealer on my face to be honest because I get paranoid I am blocking my pores but I do wear it when necessary and last week I accidently burnt my chin on my curling iron (I'm a dumb blonde at heart) so this concealer has been there to cover it for me!

These are all my recent purchases from Bourjois and as I typed this post I realised that Boots are offering a free gift when you spend over £15 on Bourjois products so I may buy a few more products, someone hide my bank card...

What are your favourite products from Bourjois?

Love,

Heather  xx
