Lush Christmas Event

Last week I had the pleasure of going to Lush Spa here in Liverpool to have a look at the Christmas goodies along with the current halloween collection. This is the third Lush event I've been to and as a regular customer of Lush, they are absolutely wonderful!

I got abit snap happy with my camera as per usual but the products are just soooo aesthetically pleasing, who can blame me? The bewitched bubble bar was my absolute favourite product from the halloween collection, as someone who loves cats and halloween for that fact it is right up my street.

Then we got a lovely tour of the spa which is heavenly. They also had a lovely selection of vegan food in the spa which was delicious (coming from a non-vegan). The highlight of my night was making my own bubble bar, we made the comforter bubble bar if you know of it, I sadly have no pictures of this as it was a pretty hands on job and I had to wear gloves.

After making my bubble bar and eating enough pretzels to feed a family, I continued to browse the christmas gifts and trying the free samples. I got a bunch of free samples of the face masks so I will have to give you all my verdict on them as I have only used one but I love it, I'm such a sucker for face masks. Of course we got a goodie bag before leaving....

In my goodie bag I got a 'Butterbear Wash Card' and a 'Naked Lip Scrub'. I also got a 'Naked Shower Gel' which you can see here on the website as I did used it before taking the pictures and now it is proven hard to get an image of. I really like the idea of Lush creating products like shower gel with no plastic packaging because it just proves how easy it is. I will be sure to write a follow up post on this to let you all know what I thought of the products. In the mean time, go and shop the wonderful range at your local Lush store and if you are from Liverpool, at the event I was informed our Lush store is moving to a bigger unit and is going to be one of the biggest going so thats pretty exciting.

Bourjois // Healthy Balance Compact Powder

Another beauty post for you all! My skin is probably the most annoying skin in the world, its dry then its oily then I'm breaking out I hate it. I find products that work for me then stick with them, I've used to same foundation for 18 months now but it works. Face powder is a one of my essentials because I can sometimes look too oily but because my skin is dry in parts it can dry me out so finding the right balance can be hard for me.

I've always been a lover of the Stay Matte Powder from Rimmel but as my skin seems to be getting dryer, this powder has really started to dry me out so I had to go looking for another powder and my skin really doesn't like change! I did abit of a research and there is far too many face powders out there for me to choose, however I have always been a fan of Bourjois. I've done a few posts on Bourjois products because they work so well for my skin, so I decided to go for the Bourjois Healthy Balance Compact Powder as I need a powder that is good for the skin and keeps you glowing as opposed to drying you out.

Safe to say I really love this powder and so does my skin. Its lightweight, it keeps my skin healthy and isn't breaking me out which is a win-win situation for me. At £8.99 a pop you can't complain, face powders seem to last a life time (unless you drop them and smash them which I have been known to do) so I would definitely recommend investing in this powder if you have combination skin. It really balances out the oils and keeps you looking healthy throughout the day. I wear it to work and after a 9 hour shift my skin is still looking as healthy as ever. Get down to Boots as all Bourjois products are 3 for 2 so go treat yourself!

Tony Moly // Sheet Masks

Hola! Its been a while again (I'm sorry again) but August seems to have completely pasted me by like did it even happen? Anyway, when I was in Barcelona I visited Sephora which was one of the most beautiful shops I have ever been to, seriously when is the UK getting one?! I purchased these sheet masks from Tony Moly which is a Korean skincare brand and I have a lot of love for Korean skincare as its normally really cute and benefits my skin so naturally I had to try these!

The main problems I've faced with my skin has been breakouts and redness, I sometimes find that facemasks can actually lead to breakouts on my skin rather than fix them but I have to say I've had a lot of success with these ones. The first one I picked up was the seaweed skin purifying mask. I love the seaweed face mask from The Body Shop and I find that seaweed skincare really loves my skin so this was a given. This made my skin feel very fresh and cleared up any blackheads that were lurking on my face.

Aloe is another ingredient that my skin loves, its so subtle and kind to the skin, This aloe moisturizing mask gave me the softest skin I've ever had. I know the main bonus of a facemask is the lovely soft, subtle feeling afterwards but imagine that times ten my skin was soft for days and I will be picking this up again!

Avocados just scream healthy to me, I never eat them but I know I should try because they truly are a wonder food but instead of eating them I've put them on my face. This avocado nutrition sheet mask is lovely, its very light on the skin and it gave me an overall glow while keeping my skin soft and moist. I would probably recommend this mask for any skin type as its not got a specific skin in mind and it made my skin look fresh for days.

So they were the ones I picked up, I definitely want to re-purchase them because my skin will miss them. Discover the whole range of Tony Moly at Cult Beauty here.

Holy Grail Moisturiser // Benefit Total Moisture

I'm excited this post has actually made it on the blog! I took pictures for this post back in March and I clearly procrastinated that much only now am I writing it. Anyway, how are you all? Once again I have been slow with blog posts but I want to share with you all the only moisturiser I have been using these past few months and that is the Benefit Total Moisture Facial Cream. I absolutely adore this moisturiser and as someone who suffers from dry/oily/sensitive skin this is a god sent (my skin is so temperamental and annoying).

I would have to say as always with Benefit products the down side is the price but it is worth it. This is a really light moistiriser but it will sort out them dry patches like theres no tomorrow, I honestly don't know how my skin would cope without this it fixes every little thing. Not to mention, again with all Benefit products, the packaging is super cute.

Have you guys ever used this moisturiser? What did you think?

Monthly Favourites // May

As if we are half way through 2016! The year is well and truly flying but I couldn't be enjoying it more. Now I want to apologise for not doing a monthly favourites since January which seems like ages ago, I just haven't been as on the ball with my blogging but for the next 6 months I'll be here each months filling you in on my faves.

This lipstick by Seventeen has been out for a while now but I recently picked up the Stay Pout Lipstick in 'Its a Kiss Off'. I love this shade its so subtle and the tones are so gentle, its such a staple colour for day and night which is why I've been using it like crazy this past month!

Body scrubs from The Body Shop are my absolute favourites, if I could I would buy every single one in the store but sadly my bank balance wouldn't let me also it would be just a tad weird. Anyway, this body scrub is from the British Rose Collection  and its such a gorgeous scent, I was going crazy in the store I ended up buying the body scrub and the body butter, not that I needed either but I couldn't say no.

This Boots Botanic Hydrating Day Cream is the only moisturiser I have used for about 3 months now (yes I know its day cream but I use it at night aswell, sue me). I think this cream truly is the definition of 'a little goes a long way' because the smallest amount covers so much and it lasts you forever. As someone who doesn't sleep that much this cream is such a life saver it brightens and softens the skin which is what I need out of a moisturiser.

Thats all for my favourites this month but I will posting alot for in the next coming months, hopefully more outfit posts as England has finally got some nice weather!

Love, Heather x
